Manuela graduated in 1996 in Italy discussing a dissertation written in collaboration with the Eastman Dental School in London.
She opened her own private practice and ran her business for 13 years before moving to Scotland after replying to an advert about a private practice in the Scottish Highlands.
Having always been fond of Scotland and its landscapes, Manuela fell in love with Edinburgh during a holiday and decided to relocate permanently to the capital city where she worked for the past 11 years, mainly in private practice.
Manuela attended many hands-on courses both in restorative dentistry and prosthodontics, in the UK and abroad, developing a passion for minimally invasive dentistry in all its aspects with the aim of saving natural teeth for as long as possible with minimal and unnoticeable intervention.
She firmly believes that everyone should be proud of their smile which in turn projects and promotes confidence
Practice Clinical Lead

After graduating from Dental University in Macedonia, Kate moved to London where she went on to pass dental exams at Guy's and Thomas' Hospital - Kings College (2006). Following this Kate moved to Scotland where for 13 years she worked in Community dentistry and as an associate dentist in private practice in the Scottish Highlands.
Kate gained her masters degree in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry from the University of Manchester in 2016 as well as completing membership exams for both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in London.
As a cosmetic dentist, Kate is passionate about helping patients find confidence that extends beyond their smile. This is achieved by using tailored facial aesthetic treatments to make the face look years younger.
Kate is also a fully certified Invisalign Go provider using align technology to align teeth using clear trays without the use of invasive wires.
Kate takes pride in providing high quality dentistry with a definite health benefit being at the forefront of everything she does.
I have been last year appointed as Practice Clinical Lead and I am dedicated to the practice clinical progress and involved to deliver the latest dental technology innovations to the practice to be available for our patients.
Dentist

Pedro qualified from the University of Lisbon in 2007. After one year of working in Portugal, he moved to Edinburgh, the city he is proud to call home, joining Stafford Street Dental team in 2023
Over the years, Pedro has devoted time into training, attending several courses to improve his knowledge and skills. This enables him to deal comfortably with a wide range of treatments, from simple to complex aesthetic and restorative cases. Pedro enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but particularly passionate about the art and science of "smile design" biomimetic dentistry, a minimally invasive treatment philosophy that aims to save and maintain the natural tooth structure and clear aligner orthodontic therapy. Pedro takes great pride in delivering high-quality care and will endeavour to make your dental visits as pleasant as possible. You can expect a friendly and honest approach with a complete explanation of treatment options and procedures so that you can make an informed decision about your treatment. Recommendations are always based on your individual goals and what is most clinically appropriate. Pedro looks forward to meeting and getting to know you, and hopes to address your dental concerns with a helping hand and a friendly smile.
Dental Hygiene Therapist

Originally from Shropshire Isobel came to Edinburgh to study a degree in Oral Health Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. During her time studying Isobel fell in love with Scotland and chose to remain after graduating. She started working at Stafford Street in 2017.
She finds the most rewarding part of the job is helping people achieve healthy and confident smiles.
Isobel welcomes all patients especially those who are dentally anxious. When she gets the chance Isobel loves travelling and exploring new places. Outside of work Isobel loves spending time with her family, including her 16-month-old son.
Dental Hygiene Therapist

After graduating from Sheffield University in 2010 Catherine worked at the Charles Clifford Dental Hopsital and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Initially for Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine but went on to pick up hours for many of the dental hospital departments and Sheffield University. She enjoyed seeing a wide range of patients and working alongside consultants and specialists in periodontology, implantology, orthodontics, and paediatric dentistry.
In 2016 Catherine started working for the NHS Fife Public Dental Service. Building on the skills she had gained, particularly in treating dentally anxious adults, people with special needs and young children. More recently she completed qualification in dental inhalation sedation and returned to the teaching of dental students and dental therapy students.
Catherine currently works in both NHS and private practice. She is passionate about evidence-based dentistry and helping patients achieve oral health.
She has a Fine Art degree and enjoys arts and crafts, gardening and exploring the urban and rural environment.
Dental Nurse

Rachael is one of our dental nursing team, she began her journey in 2021 in the Public Dental Service and joined us here in December 2022 after qualifying. In the few years that she has been working as a dental nurse she has developed a passion for the role, prioritising patient care and safety. She has a special interest in Oral Surgery and would love to continue her training and progress in her new career as a dental nurse.
Since joining the team at Stafford Street, she has become a friend to all and an excellent addition to the team, she works hard and is always willing to lend a hand.
In her down time Rachael enjoys spending time relaxing or going on adventures with friends and family. She also enjoys crochet and loves to make little plush toys, hats and most recently she crocheted herself a cardigan which she is very proud of.
Trainee Dental Nurse
Kloè is our Trainee Dental Nurse, she previously worked in retail and joined the practice in October 2022. Since starting she has made a great start towards becoming an excellent dental nurse. She is a fun, bubbly and hardworking member of our team.
Kloè is enjoying exploring all the branches of dentistry that we offer, learning and deciding where her special interests might lie.
Outside of work Kloè is very artistic and enjoys decompressing after a busy day with painting, baking and many other crafts.
Practice Manager

Cara our practice Manager has over 25years of experience in dentistry. Starting her career as a dental nurse, she has gained experience and qualifications working with experienced clinicians from general dentistry to specialised treatments, orthodontics, cosmetic & Implants. Giving her the knowledge that she now has to give patients a great experience when visiting Stafford Street.
Cara took over as practice Manager in February 2023 and hopes to expanded the implant business and the patient journey.
Outside of the dental business Cara loves spending time with her family, she is kept busy with her husband and 2 children, and their dog Zachery. Cara enjoys eating out and trying new places and new tastes.
Receptionist
Maureen joined Stafford Street February 2022, and brings experience from over 30 years in customer service and reception roles, although she does not have Dentistry experience, she has adapted to the role well and is excited to develop and learn new skills. Maureen enjoys working with a great team at Stafford Street and welcoming patients at front of house. In her spare time Maureen enjoy, cooking, reading socialising with friends and family, traveling for holidays in the sun.
Receptionist
I have enjoyed working as a Dental Receptionist for just over 20 years now, mainly within private dentistry and pride myself in making the whole patient journey as comfortable and smooth as possible.
I love meeting and greeting people from all walks of life and establishing relationships in order to make them feel at ease. It certainly helps that I am little dental phobic myself and can understand and appreciate the possible apprehension when initially walking through the door.
I love being part of a team and will endeavour to help whenever needed. I also enjoy all the administration tasks that come along side this role, happy to take on extra duties and thrive on being busy.
Outside of work, family time is very important to me and hanging out with my little granddaughter, which is always lots of fun. I also enjoy long walks and catching up with friends, especially when there is food involved!
I am a keen boxing fan (spectator only I might add) and Formula 1. Yoga is a recent venture and still trying to give that a go
