Experienced New Dentist at Stafford Street Dental Care

We would like to introduce the latest person to join our dental team- Frank van Schaik.  Frank is well known to us as an experienced Edinburgh  dentist and we are delighted that he will be working with us.

Frank was born in New Zealand and raised in Holland. He is a graduate of the University of Groningen (Netherlands) School of Dentistry. He did post-graduate training at the University of Edinburgh. After working in the Netherlands Antilles for 3 years he established one of Scotland’s leading private practices in Edinburgh. His practice was written up in the July 1995 issue of Harpers & Queen. The article “The A-List Dentists” described the nations 14 favourite dentists.

He brings with him vast experience in all matters dental and has been practicing implant dentistry since 1998. He is committed to providing the highest quality individualized care, which has earned him his excellent reputation. He offers approachable, caring dentistry and he gives detailed attention to every aspect of his practice, so you can relax and feel confident that your dental health is in the best hands. Frank’s attitude to dentistry is prevention orientated with a conservative approach.

Frank is a member of the British Dental Association and the Association of Dental Implantology. He is an active member of the Royal Odonto- Chirurgical Society of Scotland and has served as a President for this learned Society.

For many years Frank has been a part-time instructor at the former Edinburgh Dental Hospital and School and until recently still taught at the Edinburgh Dental Institute one day a week.

Frank and his wife Inge live in rural Perthshire with their two young children. He is known in the area for his small flock of pedigree Zwartbles sheep and diverse collection of poultry. He also trains and works Flatcoated Retrievers on several shoots in Perthshire.
