Teeth can break or chip after a traumatic incident such as a fall, or after the edges of the teeth have become very thin from erosion. Teeth can also decay creating defects that require restoration.
Large and small chips and defects can be restored by bonding composite (tooth coloured filling material) on to the chipped edge or within the tooth to restore it to it’s natural forma and function. We can normally match the tooth very well so that you don’t notice the work that has been done.
Modern day composite materials are far superior to the old fashioned dental amalgam that used to be favoured by most dentists. Composites can be made to have great wear characteristics and therefore suitable to restore the back biting teeth,. Conversely they can be made to have far superior aesthetic qualities and hence are great for use to restore the front “smiling” teeth.
If a filling is required that is a little larger that we would usually consider making an inlay with our dental technician, we can offer a same day Cerec restoration instead.
Whatever is required to restore your teeth we are able to do in the most aesthetic and functional way.
